The SEC Faculty Travel Grant program is intended to enhance faculty collaboration that stimulates scholarly initiatives between SEC universities. This program provides faculty members from each SEC university the opportunity to travel to other SEC campuses to exchange ideas, develop grant proposals, present lectures, conduct research and deliver performances. Participation in this program is continuous throughout the academic year, with recipients being announced in mid-October.

Application Process
(Application period: April 1 - May 17)
The Office for Faculty Advancement will begin accepting applications on April 1. The deadline to submit application packets is May 17.
To apply, the faculty member is to submit the following information electronically (in one PDF file) to facultyadv@uky.edu, with the subject line reading 'SEC Faculty Travel Grant Application - current year':
• Faculty member information:
- Name and Title(s)
- College/Unit and department
- Campus address, email address, and phone number
- Biography (no more than 250 words)
- Professional headshot (color, 1000x1000 pixels, 72 dpi resolution, jpeg format)
• Host institution information, including contact person at the host institution
• Letter of invitation from the host unit (usually the relevant department chair) specifying the dates and the specific expectations of the faculty member
• Visit dates (date range is acceptable)
• Anticipated activities while on the visit
• Statement of the relevant benefits of visit for UK and host institution
• Proposed budget (not detailed)
• Brief letter of support from the department chair, confirming the arrangement of duty coverage, if travel is to occur during the faculty member’s assignment period.
