Program Information

We are pleased to announce that UK will participate in the 10th Academic Leadership Academy (ALA), a project of the Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium (BHEC).  The purpose of the ALA is to encourage faculty to consider leadership career paths and to provide guidance in developing the skill set necessary for effective institutional leadership.  Successful applicants will have demonstrated academic leadership potential and should have an interest in pursuing academic leadership roles, but applicants need not have already provided University service as chair, director, or in senior college or University-level positions to qualify for this program.

Faculty from all title series are welcome to apply.  We hope that you will nominate individuals from your unit for this valuable opportunity.  Please note that candidate support (by signing off on the application form) must come from both the faculty member’s chair/director and his/her dean.  Faculty members selected for this program must be available for all-day on April 21 (at Transylvania University), and October 20, 2023 (at Morehead State University). Faculty members selected for the program (and their nominators) will be notified by March 1, 2023.  The Provost’s Office will cover the cost of registration, but participants will be responsible for their own local transportation to workshop venues. Nominations from under-represented or protected faculty populations are encouraged.
